New dedicated teams of staff to provide hands-on support for people with mental health needs will be set up in Welsh hospitals, Health and Social Services Minister Mark Drakeford has announced.
A brand new purpose-built mental health facility based at University Hospital Llandough, Hafan y Coed, was opened last week by Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. The new facility aims to provide a modern, therapeutic and recovery-focused environment to adults experiencing mental illness.
A major new policy institute dedicated to researching and finding solutions to the link between mental illness and money problems was launched last week. The institute is funded by a donation of £2 million from Money Saving Expert founder Martin Lewis.
