Mental Health Bill: Bulletin

It will receive reports and evidence from the five organisations that gave evidence in September 2002, following the publication of the first Draft: Hafal, the Association of Directors of Mental Health Services, the Royal College of Nursing, the Royal College of Psychiatrists and MIND Cymru.

The Committee will focus specifically on changes made to the draft Mental Health Bill published in 2002. After considering the evidence presented today it will report its conclusions and recommendations to the UK Government through the Minister for Health and Social Services.

Officials in attendance include Peter Lawler, Community, Primary Care and Health Service Directorate; Ann Lloyd, Head of Health and Social Care in Wales; and Dr Sarah Watkins, Senior Medical Officer. The evidence and responses from all five organisations presenting to the Committee is available on-line on the National Assembly website – click here to go directly to that page.
