New Department of Health guide offers help to families of suicide victims

The government has launched a new guide called “Help is at Hand” aimed at those who have lost loved ones to suicide.

The guide offers practical help from how inquests work to handling wills and estates. It also gives advice about how to cope with the feelings of anger, guilt and despair which often surround suicide or other sudden death.

Help is at Hand is available from doctors’ surgeries, funeral services and coroner’s courts. You can download a free copy from: www.dh.gov.uk
