In his cabinet reshuffle Carwyn Jones has made Mark Drakeford the new Health Minister, replacing Lesley Griffiths (who becomes the new Minister for Local Government and Government Business). Gwenda Thomas remains Deputy Minister for Social Services.
Beyond his political career as an AM and member of the Government Professor Drakeford is an academic in the field of social policy and former Chair of the Health Committee.
