Autumn Conference marks culmination of groundbreaking
Lights! Camera! ACTION! 2013 mental health campaign
Hafal’s Autumn Conference, which will be heldat the Members’ Centre, Royal Welsh Showground, Builth Wells on Thursday 7thNovember 2013, will mark theculmination of “Lights! Camera! ACTION!” – a summer-long campaign runby mental health service users and carers and supported by charities Hafal,Bipolar UK and the Mental Health Foundation. The Conference incorporates Hafal’s AGM andwill include an interactive exhibition showcasing Hafal’s work across the 22counties of Wales.
Hafal Events Coordinator Emma Billings said:”Two hundred delegates, mostly people with a serious mental illness andtheir families, have already booked to attend the Conference. They’ll have aunique opportunity to share experiences with people from other areas and tocelebrate the success of this year’s campaign which has been praised by Healthand Social Services Minister Mark Drakeford AM.”
Activities at the Conference will include:
· A media workshop
· A healthy eating information and advice stand
· Tai Chi
· An interactive care and treatment planning session
· An employment and training workshop
· A housing forum
· Music workshops
· A User Rally and Carer Rally
· An advice session on keeping your finances healthy from the CitizensAdvice Bureau
· A psychological therapies workshop.
The day will end with “The Haftas” -an awards ceremony celebrating the work of filmmakers who took part in thisyear’s Lights! Camera! ACTION! campaign.
