Ceredigion’s Let’s Get Physical! Event Scores Big in Aberystwyth

Visitors to today’s Let’sGet Physical!event in Ceredigion event had the opportunity totake a shot at goal in a penalty shoot-out before refuelling with a nutritiouslunch and healthy smoothies. And those who didn’t fancy taking to the pitch gothula-hooping on the sidelines!

Service user Joanna Regan said: “It was a World Cup yearthis year so football is even more in the public eye than usual. Football is afun game and it’s a team game. We wanted to show that exercise can be aboutgetting together and taking part in a sport, not just going to the gym.

“People have really enjoyed the football – even if theyhaven’t played since school! Let’s hope the campaign inspires more people tojoin a local club or even for mental health projects to set up their ownteams.”

Today’s event was attended by MP for Ceredigion MarkWilliams, Mayor of Aberystwyth Cllr Brenda Haines, and Leader of the CeredigionCounty Council, Cllr. Ellen ap Gwynn.
